Who We Are

Valley Krishi Campus is affiliated to Agriculture and Forestry University (AFU), Rampur, Chitwan and located at Godawari Municipality-11, Chapagaun, Bajrabarahi, Lalitpur, Province-03, Nepal, in the vicinity of sacred Bajrabarahi temple and Bajrabarahi forest. Moreover, near to Nepal Agriculture Research Council (NARC), Khumaltar, Lalitpur. It’s peripheral district like Kavrepalanchok, Sindhupalchowk, Makawanpur, Bhaktapur, and Dhading have been ever booming for urban and peri-urban agriculture as well. It is regarded as an agricultural-hub of southern Lalitpur and eminent for commercial production of different agricultural items like milk, vegetables, tea, coffee, fish, flowers, poultry, and mushroom, etc. A well organized and coordinated effort in the village level and organizational level could lead this to be a high potential area for agro-tourism.

This campus aims to fulfill the high demand for technical manpower in the agriculture sector both at the local level as well as at the national level. The demand for agriculture graduates is very high in the government sector, Nepal Agriculture Research Council (NARC), Teaching Institutes, Nurseries and vegetable farms, organized private sector industries, etc. Additionally, new areas of opportunities are available for agriculture graduates at non-governmental organizations, research stations, cooperatives, as well as in private practices in and around farming community. Brain drain and labor migration is the biggest problem of our country. So, the production of the technical manpower would attract the youths for entrepreneurship which creates employment opportunities within a country. The campus is quite hopeful to contribute to the national economy by producing technical manpower and creating the avenues for youths to engage in better sustainable livelihood and entrepreneurship.

The process of agricultural production has become increasingly complex and therefore, requires modern scientific knowledge in the field of research and its practical extension. Unless the skilled workforce is available to support the progress, agriculture modernization, commercialization, and sustainable agriculture will be out of reach. The proposed Program of Valley Krishi Campus will contribute to harnessing modern technology in the agricultural sector by research, by introducing modern and innovative tools, techniques and methods.
